Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento mejorado para la preparación de una composición de revestimiento para substratos metálicos, que tiene metal pulverulento, que tiene facilidad mejorada de preparación a partir de componentes premescladas, estables, en donde el método involucra mesclar un componente (A) de eromato que contiene agua y que está de metal pulvelurento con un componente (B) de metal pulverulento libre de cromato y anhidro, para de esta manera preparar una composición adaptada para tratar abstratos de metal y proporcionar resistencia a la corrosión a los mismos; caracterizado porque comprende: (I) preparar el componente (A) de cromato que contiene agua, estableciendo una composición acuosa que contiene una sustancia que proporciona cromo hexavalente en solución acuosa, y no proporciona sustancialmente más de alrededor de 100 gramos por litro de cromo, expresado como CrO3; (II) preparar el componente (B) de metal pulverulente anhidro y libre de cromato: (a) mesclando juntos una agente de dispersión líquido, solubre en agua, y un líquido orgánico dispersable en agua, en una centidad suficiente para aministrar la composición de revestimiento con más aproximadamente 0-0005 por ciento en volumen del agente y cuando menos al rededor del 15 por ciento en volumen del líquido orgánico, ambos con base en el volumen total de la composición de revestimiento; (b) mesclando éter de celulosa soluble en agua a la mezcla resultante del agente de dispersión y el líquido organico, habiendo suficiente éter para proporcionar entre aproximadamente 0.01-3 por ciento en peso de éter en el componente (B).
