Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método mejorado para producir un diafragma para celdas electrolíticas en donde un cátodo foraminoso se cubre mediante deposición al vacío, con una capa de asbesto fibroso y partículas poliméricas termoplásticas, y se calienta; caracterizado porque comprende formar un diafragma adherente y coherente, dimensionalmente estable y lateralmente uniforme mediante calentamiento del cátodo cubierto a una temperatura suficiente para ocasionar que las partículas poliméricas se fusionen, uniendo entre sí las fibras adyacentes de asbesto, formando el polímero una capa descontinua sobre las fibras de asbesto.
