Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento mejorado para producir un material de banda fibroso, tendido con agua, no tejido, mechoso, caracterizado proque comprende los pasos de proveer un elemento recolector de fibras, de forma de placa, que tiene una superficie recolectora de fibras lisa y una multitud de aberturas que se extienden de dicha superficie contínuamente a través del elemento, cada una de las aberturas teniendo una porción de labio en dicha superficie y una configuración generalmente tubular a través del elemento, proveer una disperción fluída de fibras seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de fibras naturales y artificiales y mezclas de las mismas, adecuadas para ser dispersadas en un medio acuoso de una viscosidad de, por lo menos, aproximadamente 0.01 por ciento en peso, y depositar las fibras de la dispersión sobre el elemento-recolector de fibras para promover el flujo laminar del medio acuoso de dispersión de fibras a través de las aberturas tubulares en el elemento de forma de placa, y una formar de tal manera un material de banda fibroso, no tejido, mechoso sobre el elemento, la banda teniendo mechones integrales formados de faces de fibras individuales estrechamente asociadas que se extienden sobre la porción de labio y dentro de las aberturas en el elemento.
