Abstract

La presente inveción se refiere a una composición adhesiva mejorada que comprende una mezcla de almidón; de 4.8-20.0 partes de, por lo menos, un copolímero de estireno y anhídrido maléico que tiene una relación del estireno con respecto al anhídrido maléico del 1:1 hasta 3:1, de 20 a 60 partes de un peptizador; de 100 a 250 partes de agua, todos con base en 100 de almidón y suficiente álcali para dar un pH dentro de los límites de 8.0 hasta 11.0, la mejora está caracterizada porque cuando menos 20 por ciento del álcali total mencionado sobre una base estequiométrica de producto de álcali fijado al 100 por ciento, se encuentra en forma de un álcali fijo.
