Abstract
En la presente se proporcionan composiciones poliméricas para fabricar artículos poliméricos estabilizados que son resistentes a al menos un efecto dañino de decoloración, agrietamiento o microfisuración tras la exposición a la luz UV-C (190-280 nm), en donde las composiciones poliméricas incluyen: (i) un material polimérico orgánico; y (ii) una composición estabilizadora que comprende: un antioxidante seleccionado del grupo que consiste en fenoles impedidos, fosfitos y fosfonitos, y mezclas de estos; y un fotoestabilizador seleccionado del grupo que consiste en fotoestabilizadores de amina impedida (HALS), absorbentes de UV (UVA), benzoatos impedidos y mezclas de estos, incluso cuando hay compuestos de bario (tales como sales de bario) ausentes de la composición estabilizadora, y con la condición de que el HALS no sea el sebacato de bis(2,2,6,6,-tetrametil-4-piperidilo) (TINUVIN(tm) 770) solo. Al menos una de la reducción de la decoloración, del agrietamiento o de la microfisuración tras la exposición a la luz UV-C se asocia con el uso del fotoestabilizador combinado con el antioxidante en comparación con el antioxidante en ausencia del fotoestabilizador. También se proporcionan métodos de estabilización de materiales poliméricos orgánicos frente a los efectos dañinos de la luz UV-C añadiendo a los materiales poliméricos orgánicos el antioxidante y el fotoestabilizador.
