Abstract

La presente descripción se refiere a secuencias de ácidos nucleicos que codifican para componentes de virus adenoasociados (AAV), tal como aquellos que han sido optimizados por codones para su expresión en plantas, y las proteínas que se expresan a partir de estas secuencias de ácidos nucleicos. También se describen métodos para producir partículas de AAV funcionales usando estas secuencias de ácido nucleico en plantas. La producción de AAV en plantas como se describe en la presente ofrece muchas ventajas con respecto a los procesos convencionales, tal como eficiencia, costo, rendimiento, escalabilidad y seguridad.
