Abstract
Un calentador óhmico tiene una estructura (20) que define una trayectoria de flujo que se extiende en una dirección descendente (D), un primer par de electrodos (34a, 3B) y un segundo par de electrodos (36a,36b). Los electrodos de cada par son adyacentes entre sí en la dirección descendente pero espaciados uno del otro en una dirección perpendicular a la dirección descendente; los pares de electrodos están espaciados uno del otro en la dirección descendente. Un circuito eléctrico (40,42,44,46,48,50) es operativo para aplicar un voltaje (i) entre los electrodos (34a,34b) del primer par o (ii) entre los electrodos (36a, 36b) del segundo par o (iii) entre al menos un electrodo (34a) del primer par y al menos un electrodo (36b) del segundo par y puede variar el voltaje aplicado. El calentador puede presentar variación de condiciones tales como cambios en la conductividad del líquido que fluye a través del calentador.
