Abstract

Un sistema y método para eliminar dióxido de carbono de una mezcla de gases cargada de dióxido de carbono, en donde el sistema comprende un grupo de estructuras de eliminación de dióxido de carbono que se mueven a lo largo de una pista de curva cerrada. En una ubicación a lo largo de la pista se encuentra una caja de desorción o regeneración, a la que pasa cada estructura de captura para regenerarse. La mayoría de las estructuras de eliminación de CO2 se alimentan con aire ambiente, o una mezcla de aire ambiente con una porción menor de un gas de combustión, y expulsan aire pobre en CO2. Al menos una estructura de eliminación de este tipo seleccionada dentro de cada grupo, en una ubicación inmediatamente anterior a su entrada en la estructura de captura, se alimenta con un gas de combustión que comprende al menos 4% de CO2 en volumen. Se proporciona un método para eliminar el dióxido de carbono de la atmósfera mediante el uso de un sistema que funciona de la misma manera que el sistema anterior.
