Abstract
La invención proporciona una nueva cepa de B. thuringiensis (Bt) que no produce beta-exotoxina y que presenta actividad insecticida contra Spodoptera frugiperda, un insecto cuyo control es deficiente o ineficaz con los productos a base de Bt actualmente disponibles en el mercado. Así, las composiciones basadas en esta cepa pueden ser utilizadas como insecticidas o para la preparación de insecticidas, siendo preferible que la composición utilizada sea una combinación de esporas y proteínas cristalinas de la cepa. El genoma de la cepa contiene una combinación de al menos (6) genes cry diferentes y al menos (3) genes vip diferentes que no ha sido descrita para otras cepas Bt y que puede ser utilizada para identificarlo.
