Abstract

La presente descripción proporciona composiciones y métodos para alterar el contenido de giberelina (GA) en maíz u otras plantas de cereales. Se proporcionan también métodos y composiciones para alterar la expresión de genes relacionados con la biosíntesis de giberelina mediante la edición de subtipos específicos de genes de la oxidasa GA20 para introducir una secuencia o segmento antisentido en el gen. Se proporcionan además células vegetales y plantas modificadas que poseen un alelo dominante que reducen la expresión o actividad de uno o más genes de la oxidasa GA, que comprenden niveles menores de giberelina y mejores características, tales como una menor altura de la planta y una mayor resistencia al encamado, pero sin desviaciones del tipo.
