Abstract
La presente descripcion proporciona plantas de maiz modificadas, transgenicas o con edicion/mutacion genomica que son semienanas y tienen uno o mas rasgos mejorados de la mazorca con respecto a una planta de control, tales como un aumento del peso fresco de la mazorca, area de la mazorca, volumen de la mazorca, diametro de la mazorca, longitud de la mazorca, vacio de la punta de la mazorca, cantidad de granos por mazorca, peso individual del grano y rendimiento; las plantas de maiz modificadas, transgenicas o con edicion/mutacion genomica comprenden un transgen que codifica uno o mas polipeptidos de glutamato deshidrogenasa (GDH) y tienen una expresion reducida de uno o mas genes de GA3 o GA20 oxidasa; tambien se proporcionan metodos para la produccion de las plantas de maiz modificadas, transgenicas o con edicion/mutacion genomica.
