Abstract

Actualmente nos estamos enfrentando a pérdidas de ecosistemas debido a la contaminación. Una de las fuentes principales de estas es la relacionada con los contenedores de plásticos que están hechos de subproductos basados de la industria petroquímica y productos derivados. Por otro lado, se ha comprobado que se pierde aproximadamente el 30% de los alimentos sembrados en el mundo y que muchos subproductos de la industria agroalimentaria no son utilizados adecuadamente. De tal forma que el uso de subproductos alimentarios, en particular las cáscaras de naranja pueden ser utilizadas para la creación de un bioplástico que es en lo que se centra nuestra patente, es decir, la invención que se presenta es un bioplástico elaborado a partir de cáscara de naranja, almidón, quitina, y carbón activado biodegradable, en donde es considerado por la FDA como material GRAS, ya que dichos componentes usados junto con el ácido acético no son nocivos si son consumidos.
