Abstract

La presente descripción se refiere a métodos para utilizar códigos de barras de ácido nucleico y sitios de amplificación correspondientes en células en las que los códigos de barras se encuentran de forma natural. Estos códigos de barras y sitios de amplificación se reconfiguran en un único casete de ácido nucleico que facilita su uso en el etiquetado de especies, cepas o variantes de células particulares, cada una con un código de barras diferente. Estos códigos de barras pueden usarse para rastrear las capacidades de colonización de las células con códigos de barras. La presente descripción proporciona, además, ensayos que utilizan códigos de barras naturales para medir la capacidad relativa de colonización microbiana de un sistema de raíces de plantas.
