Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un dispositivo y un método para el tratamiento abortivo o preventivo de un dolor de cabeza mediante estimulación externa del nervio trigémino, en particular estimulación eléctrica transcutánea no invasiva del nervio trigémino mediante pulsos consecutivos. Los pulsos comprenden una frecuencia de repetición de pulsos de entre 0.5 kilohercios y 50 kilohercios; un ancho de pulso de entre 1 microsegundo y 500 microsegundos; y una amplitud de pulso de entre 0.1 miliamperios y 200 miliamperios.
