Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para diagnosticar o pre-diagnosticar una enfermedad asociada con el borramiento del proceso del pie del podocito en un sujeto o para determinar el riesgo de que un sujeto desarrolle una enfermedad asociada con el borramiento del proceso del pie del podocito, el método comprende los pasos de: a) determinar la longitud del diafragma de hendidura (lSD) formado por los procesos del pie del podocito en un área específica A en una muestra de tejido renal del sujeto mediante microscopia óptica de super resolución; b) comparar la longitud del diafragma de hendidura (lSD) formado por los procesos del pie del podocito en un área específica A como se determinó en el paso (a) con la longitud del diafragma de hendidura (lSD) formado por los procesos del pie del podocito en un área específica comparable A en una muestra del tejido renal de un sujeto quien en el momento del muestreo no mostró síntomas clínicos de una enfermedad asociada con el borramiento del proceso del pie del podocito, en donde una desviación indica una enfermedad asociada con el borramiento del proceso del pie del podocito.
