Abstract
El Aº-tetrahidrocannabinol (Aº-THC o THC) y el cannabidiol (CBD) son componentes principales de la planta de Cannabis que tienen propiedades farmacológicas con un valor terapéutico potencial. Esta invención está dirigida a procesos para el aislamiento a gran escala de estos dos y otros cannabinoides de la planta Cannabis sativa. Esto se logra mediante el descubrimiento de que los ésteres de aminoácidos protegidos de los cannabinoides son más fáciles de separar usando cromatografía en columna de sílice en fase normal. La hidrólisis de base suave de los ésteres regenera los cannabinoides libres en forma purificada. La invención también es aplicable al aislamiento de otros cannabinoides a partir de extractos de Cannabis.
