Abstract
La presente invención se refiere al campo médico, en particular a la modulación de la polarización eléctrica de neuronas. Más específicamente, la presente invención se refiere a una nanopartícula o un agregado de nanopartículas para su uso para modular la polarización eléctrica de neuronas en un sujeto, por ejemplo para su uso en la prevención o el tratamiento de una enfermedad neuronal en un sujeto, normalmente modulando la polarización eléctrica de neuronas en el sujeto, en donde i) cuando la nanopartícula o el agregado de nanopartículas se expone a una fuente de luz, el material de nanopartículas o de agregado de nanopartículas se selecciona de un material que permite transducción optoeléctrica, transducción opto-térmica o transducción opto-óptica, ii) cuando la nanopartícula o el agregado de nanopartículas se expone a un campo magnético, el material de nanopartículas o de agregado de nanopartículas se selecciona de un material que permite transducción magneto-eléctrica o transducción magnetotérmica, iii) cuando la superficie de la nanopartícula o del agregado de nanopartículas se expone a una fuente de ultrasonidos, el material de nanopartículas o de agregado de nanopartículas es un material que permite transducción acustico-eléctrica, y en donde la nanopartícula o el agregado de nanopartículas o bien se carga de forma neutra en ausencia de cualquier recubrimiento o bien se recubre con un agente hidrófilo que confiere una carga superficial neutra a la nanopartícula o el agregado de nanopartículas. Se refiere además a composiciones y kits que comprenden dichas nanopartículas y/o agregados de nanopartículas, así como a usos de los mismos.
