Abstract

Se describe un sistema, método y aparato para detectar el inicio de un evento de caminata. El método comprende identificar la ubicación de un dispositivo portátil; determinar si el dispositivo portátil ha salido de una zona de cercado geográfico; confirmar que un dispositivo portátil está en modo de caminata si se determina que el dispositivo portátil ha salido de una zona de cercado geográfico y que el dispositivo portátil no está conectado a una red inalámbrica; habilitar un receptor GPS; registrar continuamente la ubicación del dispositivo portátil recibida desde el receptor de GPS mientras el dispositivo portátil está en modo de caminata; y transmitir la ubicación registrada del dispositivo portátil mientras el dispositivo portátil está en modo de caminata.
