Abstract
Un método para medir el sonido de los vórtices en la arteria carótida que comprende: una primera y segunda disposiciones de control de calidad, en donde el control de calidad compara los sonidos detectados con los sonidos predeterminados y, al confirmar los procedimientos de control de calidad, detecta los sonidos generados por el corazón y sonidos de vórtices en la arteria carótida durante al menos 30 segundos. Un método para determinar la estenosis de la arteria carótida en un paciente humano que consiste en una primera etapa para colocar un dispositivo de sensor que comprende una matriz y tres elementos de sensor en el paciente, en donde un primer elemento de sensor se coloca cerca del corazón y los dos elementos de sensor restantes se colocan adyacentes a las arterias carótidas; los elementos de detección luego miden los sonidos de cada uno de los tres elementos de detección, dando como resultado el sonido de tres canales. El sonido se mide en formato analógico y se modifica a formato digital y luego se analiza cada uno de los tres canales antes de realizar un análisis de densidad espectral de potencia. La gráfica de densidad espectral de potencia revela picos que no se deben al ruido, que luego se analizan para proporcionar un cálculo del porcentaje de estenosis u oclusión completa de la arteria carótida.
