Abstract
Se describe un metodo novedoso para controlar la formacion de biuret en la produccion de urea y, particularmente, reducir, prevenir o revertir tal formacion, esto se logra al adicionar amoniaco liquido a una corriente acuosa de urea, esta adicion se realiza en una o mas posiciones corriente abajo de una seccion de recuperacion en una planta de urea, la adicion de amoniaco liquido sirve para desplazar el equilibrio de la formacion de biuret a partir de urea, al lado de la formacion de urea a partir de biuret y amoniaco, la invencion puede lograrse, ademas, en una planta de urea que existia previamente, mediante la medida simple de proporcionar una entrada 1adecuada para amoniaco liquido, en comunicacion continua con una fuente de tal amoniaco liquido.
