Abstract

El material según la invención es un copolímero acrílico que está reticulado, es viscoelástico, flexible, hidrófobo y deformable a temperatura ambiente, de al menos 50% en peso de monómeros acrílicos o metacrílicos y alcohol cinámico. La mezcla de monómeros, de manera preferible, incluye: - al menos un arilalcoxi-acrilato o un arilalcoxi-metacrilato; al menos un acrilato hidroxilado y un metacrilato hidroxilado; al menos un diacrilato diol etoxilado y un dimetacrilato diol etoxilado; y alcohol cinámico. El material se obtiene en una sola etapa de polimerización radical y se presenta en forma de una red macromolecular tridimensional que incluye una unidad de alcohol cinámico. El material se utiliza para la fabricación de lentes intraoculares (1).
