Se provee un acero para uso estructural de máquina que incluye, como una composición química, en % en masa, C: 0.40% a 0.70%, Si: 0.15% a 3.00%, Mn: 0.30% a 2.00%, Cr: 0.01% o más y menos de 0.50%, S: 0.003% a 0.070%, Bi: más de 0.0001% y 0.0050% o menos, N: 0.0030% a 0.0075%, Al: 0.003% a 0.100%, y P: 0.050% o menos; y según sea necesario, B, Mo, Ni, Cu, Ca, Mg, Zr, Rem, Ti, Nb, V, Sb, Te y Pb, el resto incluyendo Fe e impurezas, en el cual se satisfacen las Expresiones 290xC+50xSi+430=620 y d+3s<20, y una densidad de presencia de MnS que tiene un diámetro de círculo equivalente de menos de 2.0 µm es de 300 piezas/mm2 o más en una sección transversal paralela a una dirección longitudinal.
