Abstract
El tratamiento catalítico de agua se proporciona utilizando un material activo conducido por una excitación óptica y/o eléctrica. El material activo es MOS2, MoSe2, WS2, WSe2, MoxW1-xS2, MoXW1-XSe2, MoSySe2-y, WSySe2-y, o MoxW1-xSySe2-y en donde 0 < x < 1 y 0 < y < 2. El material activo esta configurado como una o más nanoestructuras en capas que tienen los bordes de las capas expuestos. Un catalizador metálico está dispuesto sobre el material activo. La estructura combinada de material activo y catalizador metálico esta dispuesta en el agua que se va a tratar. Se proporciona una excitación al material activo para generar una o más especies reactivas de oxígeno por disociación de agua, en donde las especies reactivas de oxígeno proporcionan el tratamiento de agua.
