Abstract
Método para la modernización de un convertidor de amoniaco de múltiples lechos, en donde dicho convertidor comprende una pluralidad de lechos catalíticos adiabáticos incluyendo un primer lecho catalítico y uno o más lechos catalíticos adicionales, dichos lechos catalíticos están dispuestos en serie de modo tal que el efluente de un lecho es hecho reaccionar adicionalmente en el lecho subsiguiente; por lo menos un primer intercambiador térmico entre lechos dispuesto entre dicho primer lecho catalítico y un segundo lecho catalítico para enfriar el efluente de dicho primer lecho antes de la admisión en dicho segundo lecho, y opcionalmente intercambiadores térmicos entre lechos adicionales dispuestos entre lechos consecutivos; dicho método involucra la conversión de dicho primer lecho catalítico en un lecho catalítico isotérmico.
