Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la síntesis de amoníaco a partir de un gas de reposición que contiene hidrógeno y nitrógeno, en donde el proceso comprende: la generación de un gas de síntesis (8) que contiene hidrógeno y nitrógeno en una relación molar menor que 3, en el interior de una sección anterior (2); una primera purificación criogénica, diseñada para eliminar el nitrógeno y elevar la relación molar; la conversión del gas de síntesis en amoníaco (13) en el interior de un ciclo de síntesis a alta presión (6), con la extracción de una corriente de purga (14) que contiene hidrógeno y gases inertes del ciclo; en donde al menos una porción de la corriente de purga (14) se somete a una purificación adicional a los fines de recuperar al menos parte del hidrógeno presente en esta, y se obtiene al menos una corriente (15, 15a, 16, 18) que contiene el hidrógeno recuperado que se recircula al proceso.
