Abstract
Se proporciona un sistema y método para la purificación criogénica de una corriente de alimentación que contiene un hidrógeno, nitrógeno, metano y argón para producir un gas de síntesis libre de metano, que contiene hidrógeno y nitrógeno y un gas combustible rico en metano, así como para recuperar una corriente de producto de argón, excedente de hidrógeno y excedente de nitrógeno. El sistema y el método descritos son particularmente útiles como un purificador criogénico integrado en un proceso de síntesis de amoniaco en una planta de amoniaco. El excedente de nitrógeno es una corriente de nitrógeno que está sustancialmente libre de metano e hidrógeno que puede usarse en otras partes de la planta, recuperarse como un producto de nitrógeno gaseoso y/o licuarse para producir un producto de nitrógeno líquido.
