Abstract

Los métodos involucran alimentar a animales jóvenes productos que contienen proteínas a base de leche, un haluro y una fuente de peróxido de hidrógeno, en donde no está presente un sistema de lactoperoxidasa activo en el producto lácteo alimentado al animal joven; en respuesta a ingerir el producto lácteo, el animal joven reduce una relación de comida a ganancia; los sustitutos de leche pueden proporcionarse como el producto de leche, y los animales jóvenes pueden ser becerros; los sustitutos de leche contienen proteína derivada de leche, una fuente de peróxido de hidrógeno en aproximadamente 50 a aproximadamente 500 partes por millón en peso del sustituto de leche rehidratado y yoduro en aproximadamente 1 a aproximadamente 50 partes por millón en peso del sustituto de leche rehidratado, en donde no está presente un sistema de lactoperoxidasa activo.
