Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método y aparato para producir concentrados de sílice a partir de fluidos geotérmicos que contienen al menos 300 ppm de sílice, haciendo pasar el fluido a una temperatura por encima de 80 °C, y a un pH reducido entre 4.0 y 7.5 a través de una membrana de osmosis inversa. En el diagrama, el fluido geotérmico (1) se pasa a un separador (2) que es vaporizado instantáneamente para producir vapor (3) y agua geotérmica separada (SGW) (4). El SGW (4) se pasa a un intercambiador de calor (5) luego a la entrada de la bomba (7). Se introduce ácido al flujo de fluido geotérmico en un medio de dosificación (6) para reducir el pH y un anti-incrustante también se puede introducir. El fluido geotérmico luego se pasa a una unidad de osmosis inversa (8) para producir un concentrado (9) y un permeado (10). Después de la osmosis inversa, el concentrado y permeado se pueden tratar con otros procesos para producir el producto y concentración deseados. Por ejemplo, si se produce sílice precipitada, el concentrado se pasa a un tanque de curado (11) y a un espesador (12). La sílice precipitada se recolecta(13) mientras que el fluido retenido se remueve (14).
