Abstract

Se describen dispositivos y métodos para la medición de la tasa de sedimentación de componentes sanguíneos formados. Algunos de los métodos pueden utilizar (1) técnicas centrífugas para separar los glóbulos rojos del plasma y (2) vídeo y/o la capacidad de formación de imágenes fijas. Ambos pueden utilizarse solos o en combinación para acelerar la sedimentación del componente sanguíneo formado y medir su tasa. En un ejemplo, el método puede permitir ventajosamente la medición rápida de la tasa de sedimentación utilizando pequeños volúmenes de muestra sanguínea. Puede utilizarse el análisis automatizado de imágenes para determinar tanto la tasa de sedimentación como el hematocrito.
