Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una unidad de esterificación (150) y a un proceso de esterificación para producir el metacrilato de metilo (MMA) sin refinar a partir de la metacrilamida (MAM), los cuales hacen posible en particular mejorar el rendimiento, lo que significa que los ácidos agotados orgánicos sean bajos; y al mismo tiempo, proporcionar el MMA sin refinar con una muy buena calidad, lo que significa que la concentración del MMA en el MMA sin refinar es bastante elevado y preferentemente desde 50 % en peso hasta 80 en peso. De acuerdo con la invención, la unidad de esterificación comprende los reactores de esterificación (1,..., 5 (o 6) establecidos de una manera en serie de modo que exista un flujo en contra corriente entre la fase gaseosa y la fase líquida, la fase líquida que fluye desde el primer reactor (1) de la serie hasta el último reactor (5 (o 6)), y la fase gaseosa que fluye desde el reactor hasta el primer reactor (1).
