Abstract
La presente invención provee berbinas sustituidas, procesos para la síntesis de compuestos de berbina sustituida preferentemente mediante una ciclación Bischler-Napieralski seguido por reducción, así como también intermedios usados en la síntesis de compuestos de berbina sustituida. El precursor de amida para la reacción Bischler-Napieralski podría obtenerse tratando la amina libre con haluros de ácido, fuentes de formiato o aldehídos. También se proveen métodos para usar las berbinas sustituidas para inhibir el crecimiento de células cancerosas.
