Abstract

La presente invención proporciona una dispersión acuosa de polímero para amortiguamiento de vibraciones que comprende un polímero formador de película en la forma de partículas dispersas que comprenden una fase de polímero P1 y diferentes fases de polímero P2 y P3; la dispersión de polímero obtenida por polimerización en emulsión por radicales libres. El control de la diferencia en temperaturas de transición vítrea de los polímeros en las diferentes fases de polímero da por resultado amortiguamiento de sonido efectivo como se determina mediante un factor de pérdida de amortiguamiento de al menos 0.1 a través de un intervalo de temperatura de al menos 400C determinado a una frecuencia de 200 Hz a través de un intervalo de temperatura de -10 a 650C. El uso de un agente de transferencia de cadena en la polimerización de las diferentes cargas de monómero da por resultado buena apariencia en el revestimiento resultante de amortiguamiento de vibraciones.
