Abstract

Se describen métodos para hacer cantidades incrementadas de dicetopiperazinas (DKP) tal como DA-DKP en composiciones farmacéuticas de proteínas y péptidos. La descripción además proporciona métodos para hacer una DKP, que incluyen (1) poner en contacto albúmina con una enzima (tal como una dipeptidil peptidasa IV (DPP-IV)) que segmenta un par de aminoácidos N-terminales de la albúmina, y (2) calentar la albúmina bajo condiciones efectivas para causar la formación de la DKP. Además también se describe el tratamiento de corrientes que contienen DKP y albúmina para producir composiciones de DKP de valor más alto, mejoradas y composiciones de albúmina purificadas para usos terapéuticos. Además de una primera composición de DKP terapéutica que comprende un bajo contenido de albúmina, también se produce una segunda composición terapéutica valiosa caracterizada por una alta concentración de albúmina.
