Abstract

El hidroximetilfurfural se obtiene a partir de una solución de azúcar de hexosa acuosa, especialmente a partir de un producto de jarabe de maíz con alto contenido de fructosa. Al calentar rápidamente la solución de azúcar hasta las temperaturas elevadas implicadas, así como al enfriar rápidamente la mezcla del producto resultante, se obtiene una conversión por paso limitada en HMF; por lo tanto, sin embargo, la exposición general al HMF que se forma en condiciones ácidas con temperaturas elevadas también está limitada, de modo que los productos derivados se reducen.
