Abstract

Se presenta un artículo resistente a proyectiles que comprende una pluralidad de capas fibrosas, cada una de dichas capas comprende una red de fibras, en donde las fibras tienen una resistencia de por lo menos 800 mN/tex (1100 MPa) según ASTM D 7269-07 y un material de matriz, en donde el material de matriz comprende una mezcla que comprende por lo menos una resina acrílica autorreticulante y/o por lo menos una resina acrílica reticulable, y por lo menos un adherente; comparado con un artículo de la misma construcción pero con un material de matriz sin adherente el artículo de acuerdo con la invención comprende una adhesión más alta entre las capas fibrosas tanto en el estado no envejecido como envejecido y una captación de agua menor después del remojo y el artículo pasa la prueba de remojo en gasolina; el artículo además comprende una placa de metal o cerámica que muestra deslaminado mínimo o uniforme de las capas fibrosas después del ataque con proyectiles, mientras que un artículo de la misma construcción pero con un material de matriz sin adherente muestra deslaminado interior de las capas fibrosas.
