Abstract

Se describe un proceso para la síntesis de metanol que comprende Las etapas de reformar una fuente de hidrocarburo, obtener una alimentación de gas auxiliar (101), alimentar dicho gas auxiliar a un ciclo de síntesis (L), convertir dicho gas auxiliar en metanol (108) en un entorno catalítico sustancialmente isotérmico en donde dicho entorno catalítico comprende una pluralidad de lechos catalíticos isotérmicos (11, 12, 21) preferentemente dispuestos en serie, y al menos una porción del gas auxiliar (101) se mezcla con el gas de reciclo (112) del ciclo (L), obtener una mezcla gaseosa de gas fresco y gas de reciclo y al menos una porción de dicha mezcla gaseosa se dirige entre dos lechos catalíticos consecutivos que actúa como un gas de enfriamiento. También se divulga una planta asociada.
