Abstract
Un método y sistema para medir la corriente que pasa a través de un contador o medidor eléctrico. El contador eléctrico incluye un sensor reactivo colocado en serie con una barra de distribución contenida en el contador. El sensor reactivo incluye un inductor y el voltaje a través de la inductancia se mide. Una unidad de control contenida en el contador eléctrico calcula la corriente con base en el voltaje detectado y el valor del inductor. El valor del inductor es determinado al pasar una corriente de referencia a través del inductor en una frecuencia conocida, tal como 50 Hz o 60 Hz, y la caída de voltaje a través del inductor se mide. Una vez que el valor del inductor se determina, el valor se almacena en la unidad de control.
