Abstract
Se divulga un método para formar una suspensión sustancialmente homogénea de partículas de nanodiamante y partículas de microdiamante. El método incluye disponer un primer grupo funcional sobre una pluralidad de partículas de nanodiamante para formar partículas de nanodiamante derivadas y combinar las partículas de nanodiamante derivadas con una pluralidad de partículas de microdiamante y un solvente para formar una suspensión sustancialmente homogénea de las partículas de nanodiamante derivadas y partículas de microdiamante en el solvente. También se divulga un método para hacer un artículo. El método incluye formar un compacto de diamante policristalino superabrasivo al combinar: una pluralidad de partículas de nanodiamante derivadas, una pluralidad de partículas de microdiamante derivadas que tienen un tamaño de partícula promedio mayor que aquel de las partículas de nanodiamante derivadas y un catalizador de metal en solvente. El método también incluye combinar el diamante policristalino con un sustrato que comprende una cerámica. El método además incluye remover una porción del catalizador de metal en solvente del compacto de diamante policristalino mediante lixiviación.
