Abstract
Se encontró un sistema de biosuministro que aumenta la eficiencia y la efectividad de introducir compuestos antimicrobianos en matrices de biopelícuIa complejas a través del uso de portadores de liposoma, con lo cual se remueve la biocontaminación en sistemas de soporte de agua industrial, incluyendo tubería, intercambios de calor, condensadores, sistemas de filtración y tanques de almacenamiento de fluido. De acuerdo con una modalidad de la invención, se agregan liposomas que contienen un compuesto antimicrobiano a sistemas de agua propensos a biocontaminación y formación de biopelícula. Los liposomas, que son similares en composición a membranas o células microbianas, se incorporan fácilmente en la biopelícula existente. Una vez que los liposomas que contienen el compuesto antimicrobiano se han arrastrado con la matriz de biopelícula, procede la descomposición o la desintegración del liposoma. Después de eso se libera el núcleo biocida para reaccionar directamente con los microorganismos encerrados de biopelícula. Con la muerte de los organismos, la matriz se descompone y con ello resulta en contaminación reducida del sistema de soporte de agua, lo que resulta en transferencia de calor aumentada, flujo aumentado, menos depósito de sólidos coloidales y en partículas y orgánicos disueltos en la superficie de la membrana de microfiltración, con lo cual se reduce la frecuencia y la duración de la limpieza de membrana y el reemplazo final.
