Abstract

En el presente, se da a conocer un procedimiento de obtención de adsorbente a partir de un material de desecho y su uso. Esta invención provee de un material natural de desecho, específicamente de la semilla del aguacate, su preparación y su uso para relleno de columnas empleadas en la eliminación de contaminantes presentes en agua residual. Las partículas tienen forma irregular y un tamaño variable para rellenar columnas de diferente diámetro y longi.tud. El adsorbente tiene la dureza suficiente para evitar que las partículas se colapsen. El material no se pudre, es regenerable y ecológico. En la presente invención se describe la preparación del adsorbente, su pre-activación, carbonización y aplicación para la eliminación del color en agua residual textil. La eliminación del color de agua residual textil, así como la disminución del contenido de sales, de sólidos totales suspendidos, de la demanda química de oxígeno (DQO) y del carbono orgánico total (TOC), se realiza haciendo pasar el agua residual textil por una columna de rellena con el adsorbente preparado. En sistema batch pueden eliminarse metales disueltos en agua.
