Abstract

Se describe un circuito de protección de riesgo de explosión (ROS), el cual comprende un capacitor que carga cada vez que hay un voltaje entre la tierra en un balasto de lámpara y la tierra. Cuando el capacitor excede un voltaje umbral predeterminado, el capacitor provoca que una compuerta derive la corriente lejos del arrollamiento terciario en un circuito de control, que a su vez, reduce la impedancia reflejada por el arrollamiento terciario de regreso a los arrollamientos primario y secundario en el circuito de balasto. La impedancia reflejada reducida provoca que la frecuencia operativa del balasto se incremente, lo que reduce el voltaje entre la tierra del balasto y la tierra hasta que sea seguro para el contacto humano. De esta manera, una persona que reemplaza una lámpara conectada con el balasto puede queda protegida de explosión a pesar de no cortar la energía para el balasto de la lámpara antes del reemplazo de la lámpara.
