Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a plantas de pimiento novedosas resistentes a insectos, y a semillas y frutos de las plantas. La presente invención también se refiere a métodos para hacer y usar tales plantas y sus frutos. La invención se refiere además a marcadores y el uso de los mismos en reproducción asistida por marcador y para identificar los caracteres de resistencia del insecto. En particular, la presente invención proporciona una planta de Capsicum annuum cultivada que es resistente, particularmente resistente de forma intermedia, a infestaciones por insectos de la familia de Thripidae y/o el género Bemisia, pero especialmente a infestaciones por Bemisia tabaci y Frankliniella occidentalis.
