Abstract

Se describe un método y aparato para recuperar un metal y separar arsénico a partir de una solución que contiene arsénico. El método incluye poner en contacto la solución que contiene arsénico con un agente de fijación que comprende un compuesto de tierras raras para producir una solución empobrecida de arsénico y un agente de fijación cargado de arsénico. El agente de fijación comprende un compuesto que contiene tierras raras que puede incluir cerio, lantano o praseodimio. El agente de fijación se separa de la solución empobrecida de arsénico y posteriormente se separa un metal recuperable a partir de una o más de las soluciones que contienen arsénico y las soluciones empobrecidas de arsénico. Los metales recuperables pueden incluir metales del Grupo lA, Grupo IIA, Grupo VIII y los metales de transición. La solución que contiene arsénico puede formarse al poner en contacto un material que contiene arsénico con un agente lixiviante.
