Abstract

La invencion descrita provee un proceso para recuperacion mejorada de uno o mas metales de valor partir de lixiviacion en montones y/o vertederos de minerales que contienen metales de valor, el proceso comprendiendo: (a) proveer una solucion de lixiviacion de alto grado obtenida por lixiviacion en montones o vertederos de mineral fresco de alto grado conteniendo un primer metal de valor; (b) someter a la solucion de lixiviacion de alto grado a una primera extraccion con solventes del primer metal de valor y aplicar la primera corriente de purga acuosa para lixiviar mineral fresco de alto grado; (c) proveer una solucion de lixiviacion de bajo grado obtenida mediante lixiviacion en montones o vertederos de mineral parcialmente lixiviado o mineral fresco de bajo grado del primer metal de valor; y (d) someter a la solucion de lixiviacion de bajo grado a una segunda extraccion con solvente del primer metal de valor, separarlo de la primera extraccion con solventes del primer metal de valor, y aplicar la segunda corriente acuosa separada resultante para lixiviar el mineral parcialmente lixiviado o mineral fresco de bajo grado, en donde las primera y segunda corrientes de purga acuosas no se mezclan entre ellas antes de aplicarse a sus minerales respectivos para la lixiviacion. Alternativamente, las primera y segunda corrientes de purga pueden mezclarse entre ellas antes de aplicarse a sus minerales respectivos para lixiviacion, siempre y cuando la corriente de purga acuosa aplicada al mineral fresco de alto grado comprende por lo menos 60% en volumen de la primera corriente de purga acuosa y la corriente de purga acuosa aplicada al mineral parcialmente lixiviado o mineral fresco de bajo grado comprende por lo menos 60% en volumen de la segunda corriente de purga acuosa.
