Abstract

Materiales compuestos poliméricos y nanomateriales compuestos poliméricos se diseñan y fabrican mediante la elección de sustancias de relleno de superficie modificada que tienen una energía de superficie sólida que iguala la energía de superficie sólida del polímero, en donde el ángulo de contacto de avance del polímero en la sustancia de relleno de superficie modificada es menos de aproximadamente 5 grados; las sustancias de relleno son superficies modificadas mediante la adsorción de agentes tensioactivos poliméricos amorfos, que consiste de distribución de tamaño mono-modal, bimodal o multi-modal; las sustancias de relleno de superficie modificada de esta invención despliegan una carga de deformación que se puede medir y una viscosidad de aproximadamente 30,000 Pa-s o menos a temperatura ambiente, y comprende uno o más materiales seleccionados del grupo que consiste de minerales, material vegetal, material animal, fibra de carbón, grafito, carbono amorfo, nanotubos de carbono, y fibra de vidrio; esta invención también provee un método para la fabricación de un nanomaterial compuesto polimérico que incluye exfoliación de una organoarcilla amorfa en un polimero cristalino o semi-cristalino al formar en compuesto en estado fundido los constituyentes en la ausencia de solventes añadidos, activadores, modificadores de borde, compatibilizadores o hidrotropos.
