Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a una linea celular precursora neural humana, inmortalizada, NGC-407. La linea celular ha sido establecida a partir de tejido fetal humano. La linea celular ha sido inmortalizada utilizando un vector retroviral que contiene el encogen v-myc. La linea celular es una linea celular progenitora neural capaz de diferenciarse en astrocitos y en neuronas, incluyendo neuronas dopaminergicas. Las celulas NGC-407 son capaces de migrar hacia los tumores del glioblastoma implantados en cerebros de rata y formar uniones de espacio vacio con las celulas tumorales. Las celulas NGC-407 que expresan un gen suicida pueden ser utilizadas para distribuir los farmacos activados en la forma de analogos de nucleosido activados, hacia los tumores.
