Abstract

Esta invencion se refiere a una composicion aprestadora que tiene un contenido bajo de VOC, util en la fabricacion de automoviles y camiones, en la que el aglutinante formador de pelicula contiene: a un compuesto epoxico cicloalifatico o policicloalifatico; b) un diluyente reactivo de alcoxi- silano osilicato; y c) un catalizador de curacion para catalizar la reaccion entre (a) y (b). Estos aprestadores estan caracterizados porque la reaccion de curacion o reticulacion esta basada presumiblemate, al menos en parte, en una reaccion de polimerizacion con apertura de anillo entre las estructuras epoxicas de (a) y los grupos silanol formados en (b) en presencia de humedad atmosferica y acido. La curacion utiliza principalmente una reaccion de apertura de anillo de las estructuras epoxicas anteriores con los diluyentes reactivos anteriores, no solamente evita que se generen compuestos volatiles y que se liberen a la atmosfera durante el proceso de curacion, sino tambien mantiene la viscosidad suficientemente baja para laaplicacion practica tal como mediante rocio. Estos aprestadores son utiles especialmente en la reduccion de emisiones, al tiempo que tambien cumplen los requerimientos de desempeno actuales, tales como la facilidad de aplicacion y excelentes propiedades fisicas tales como la resistencia a la corrosion, un fuerte nivel de adhesion a sustratos aprestados y sin aprestar, y proporcionan una superficie a la cual se adheriran los recubrimientos superiores para automoviles, convencionales.
