Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para la conversión de una fracción petrolífera pesada en fracciones más ligeras,q ue comprende hacer pasar una fracción petrolífera pesada, que tiene un contenido de bajo de constituyentes asfaltenicos junto con una corriente de gas que contiene hidrógeno a través de una zona de reacción que contiene un catalizador activador del hidrógeno y no ácido, a una temperatura de 400-550 grados C, preferiblemente 410-530 grados C, más preferiblemente 440-510 grados C y una presión parcial de hidrógeno de 10-60 bares, preferiblemente 20-40 bares.
