Abstract

y por lo menos un segundo medio de pasaje que se extiende en línea recta a través de la placa contra salpicadura, para suministrar una porción del fluido de revestimiento a una porción central de la superficie delantera de la placa contra salpicadura, teniendo el segundo medio de pasaje una entrada en la proyección cónica, separadadel eje; un medio de tubo de alimentación que tiene un extremo conectado a una fuente de fluido de revestimiento y un extremo opuesto colocado sobre el eje adyacente a la proyección, para suministrar fluido de revestimiento al mismo; an annular backsplash, secured within the cup-shaped member and defining a rear surface and a front surface, the rear surface having a central portion adapted to receive a supply of coating fluid and direct the coating fluid from the portion central, along the rear surface, towards another portion of the backsplash, the central portion of the rear surface having a generally conical projection extending outwardly therefrom; a first passageway means extending through the outer portion of the backsplash to supply the coating fluid to the annular forward flow surface of the cup-shaped member; and at least one second passageway means extending in a straight line through the backsplash, to supply a portion of the coating fluid to a central portion of the front surface of the backsplash, the second means of passage an entrance in the conical projection, separated from the axis; a feed tube means having one end connected to a source of coating fluid and an opposite end positioned on the shaft adjacent to the projection, to supply coating fluid thereto; an annular shaped air cap, secured relative to one end of the housing and having an external surface extending from the housing to a peripheral portion of the bell; and an annular shaping air ring secured relative to the shaping air cap and having an inner surface in facing relationship with the outer surface of the air cap, and extending toward the peripheral portion of the bell; the outer surface of the air cap and the inner surface of the air ring cooperating to define a first annular chamber to receive a supply of pressurized air configuration, an annular formation of openings to receive said forming air from the first chamber, a second annular chamber to receive the shaping air from the first chamber, through the openings, and an open annular space, adjacent to the peripheral portion of the hood, the annular space receiving the shaping air from the second chamber and directing this shaping air towards the peripheral portion of the bell, in a thin uniform ring pattern or pattern.
