Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para la fabricación de 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano mediante la reacción de HF y por lo menos uno de tricloroetileno y 2-cloro-1,1,1-trifluoroetano en presencia de un catalizador, a una temperatura elevada para formar una mezcla que comprende 2-cloro-1,1,1-trifluoroetano y 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano, la mejora comprende llevar a cabo la reacción en una sola zona de reacción mientras que (1) se recupera el 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano de la mezcla y (2) hacer recircular el 2-cloro-1,1,1-trifluoroetano de la mezcla hacia la zona de reacción junto con el tricloroetileno en una cantidad molar por lo menos igual a la cantidad molar de 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroetano recuperado de la mezcla y con HF adicional en una cantidad molar de 3 a 30 veces la cantidad molar de tricloroetileno.
